2. Ahmed Deedat – the Islam Apologist that strongly rejected the Deity of Jesus.
Who was Ahmed Deedat? Why do I add this material in this Book?
Most Muslims know about Ahmed Deedat. However, I am not sure if they also know about the aftermath of Ahmed Deedat's life. Therefore, I include this part in this book as there is a very strong, but tragic lesson for every Muslim and Christian to learn.
Christians must learn about it as well, as this is applicable to us as well; and few Christians is known with this story.
Deedat was one of Islam’s most famous Apologists before 1996 (when he was tragically cut down by a stroke and remains totally paralyzed for 9 more years – This can be read in a report “Deedat’s Downfall” at the end of this passage).
Deedat, over 50 years of his earlier live, did everything in his power to increase Islam in South Africa but also in the international sphere.
Muslims still salute him as a very well-known Muslim ‘missionary’, a hero among Muslims and as their outstanding debater and apologist; Even today, a long time after his death.
This man’s videos are still viewed all over the world by Muslims to motivate them in their faith. He holds numerous inter-religious public debates with evangelical Christians, as well as video lectures on Islam, Christianity, and the Bible. Muslims always claim that he won every debate with Christians.
All the initiatives of IPCI have the the single purpose of Dawah (Islam’s Propagation of Islam - “circling the globe with the message of Islam”).
He received the King Faizel prize for 50 years of Dawah work.

Christ in Islam, Is the Bible God’s word? Crucifixion or Cruci-fiction and... Combat Kit Against Bible Thumpers.
In the accompanied report underneath about “Ahmed Deedat’s Downfall”, the following remark was included...
“The publication of Deedat’s book “Combat Kit” (1992) marked the beginning of the end. This vicious and ridiculing attack on the Bible set in motion events which proved to be Deedat’s undoing. During the next year a small group of Christians prayed about these provocations. Finally, I wrote Mr. Deedat a personal letter, in which I refuted two of his most vile and vicious attacks. He did not acknowledge receiving the hand-delivered letter — much less answer it.)
Yes, he was a very well know debater and he was able to quote many Bible verses (mostly out of their context) to proof his point and was able to make many followers for Islam and degrade many Christians in such debates.
One of his Muslim disciples commended underneath a YouTube lecture as follows:
- Deedat was a pioneer in the Islamic dawah ! When I reverted to Islam some years ago, I watched many of his lectures and debates and it opened my eyes to the Bible, what it says about Prophet Mohammad (p), the 'crucifixion', the errors, and different versions of the Bible, and so on.
- I tell people I read the Bible more AFTER reverting to Islam then at anytime when I was a Christian, obviously I read the Qur'an mainly and now. Islam CRUSHES falsehood (all other religions) and leaves it in its wake! The invitation is open to all of mankind, if you try to bring any question to a Muslim with knowledge it will get exposed from the bible and of course the Qur'an. – Alhumdulilah
2.1 One of Ahmed Deedat’s favourite topics: “Jesus is not God!”
He liked to ‘proof it out of the Bible’. One of his well know and widely distributed books was Jesus - The GOD That Never Was.
This post was received on Facebook, referring to Ahmed Deedat with the following statement:
"Prophet Jesus is not God. He is a messenger of Allah sent to the children of Israel." (Q.3:49) But the early Christians made him God."
The Poster added a YouTube video from Ahmed Deedat - Jesus is not God.
Muslims on the other hand will enjoy this video very much - This will confirm their believe in Muhammad and the Quran that rejects the deity of Christ and thus confirming their choice of being and staying slaves of Allah.)
Muslim Friend, What you say is taught to you by your Muslim scholars and they try to proof it from your Quran.
The Bible has a different version about who Jesus is.
Jesus is a whole different person than what you think; He is more than your Quranic version of Isa. The Jesus of the Bible is Yesuah – not your Isa.

2.2 Where is Ahmed Deedat today?
This is a very important Question to think about:
Where is this hero of Islam today? (Read underneath about Deedat’s Downfall)
So sad to say… Not alive but dead, rotten in a grave.
And his eternal destiny? Unfortunately, according to the Bible (and according to your Quran and your faith of dead works), he was never sure about his destiny and eternal life up till the end! Many Muslims today still share this road with a dead end with late Ahmed Deedat.
👉Not even his prophet Muhammad was sure of his own eternal destiny.
- Say: 'I am not an innovation among the Messengers, and I know not what shall be done with me or with you. I only follow what is revealed to me; I am only a clear warner.' S. 46:8-9 Meccan
- By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me," (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 266)
I think Deedat knew the Gospel message, but he never accepts Jesus Christ as God and Saviour. He should know better. He rejects the truth. Jesus said: I am the Truth (Joh 14:6) The only name who can save us (Acts 4:12)
In this article “Deedat’s Downfall” underneath, the writer gave this report:
“Along with many other Christians, we have prayed for Mr. Deedat to repent, to turn to Jesus, and to be healed.
Deedat has certainly had more occasions than most people to learn about God's true message and offer of salvation, and God has given him much time to respond. Yet, he persisted in his rejection of the Gospel.
I want to leave the reader with two verses from the Word of God.
"Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?’" Ezekiel 33:11
God commanded Ezekiel to speak this warning to Israel in its disobedience, but the heart of God is the same today. He still desires that sinners repent instead of dying in their sins and perish. Yet the other is equally true when people persist in their rejection of God's message:
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows" Galatians 6:7
In the case of Ahmed Deedat, God has shown both his patience and his punishment.
2.3 Where is Jesus Christ today?
He died, rose again from the grave; He sits at the right hand of God. You can read about His resurrection and that He will come again to judge in the Bible. (don't read the Quran's version, because you know at this stage that the Quran is full of holes, with a very questionable origin that was put together two centuries after Muhammad's death, with many different of Arabic Quran versions available today, that proof that the Quran is not authentic at all as Muslims claimed for many centuries.

3. Ahmed Deedat’s Downfall
(The reference of this report is provided at the end of this article)
Many readers have been asking whether Ahmed Deedat, the Muslim debater, is still alive. As of this writing (July 2005) he is alive, but he cannot speak, and he is completely paralysed. In fact, Deedat has been in this condition since he suffered a rare kind of stroke nine years ago. Few people outside his home city of Durban are aware of this, and even fewer know the sequence of events leading to this tragedy.
Four weeks before Deedat was stricken he attacked the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ in front of a large audience in Australia. These provocative lectures “raised the ire of the Australian government”, causing them to “threaten to deport him unless he toned down the content of his Good Friday lecture in Sydney.” (Daily News, Durban, 6 May 1996)
Incidentally, Deedat’s inflammatory reputation caused Singapore to ban him from entering their country.
If a secular entity like the Australian government was so offended, what was the Christian church feeling? And more importantly what were they doing about it? Following is the record of how Christians responded in Durban where Deedat founded and directed the Islamic Propagation Centre International.

In the following months a group of nearly two dozen pastors from many different churches and denominations deliberated prayed about these mocking attacks on the Holy Bible. They decided to issue a stern public rebuke through an open letter in the Daily News of Durban. They warned him of God’s judgement because Deedat refused to retract his defamatory and unscholarly attacks against the Bible.

4. Debate between Ahmed Deedat and Josh Mcdowell
One of the many famous debates is the one... Ahmed Deedat vs. Josh Mcdowell.
Here is a written transcript of the Debate, that makes it easy to follow and to study.
When I listened, my heart was touch... for what Jesus did to me; how He was willing to die in my place! I clearly heard how Mcdowell explained his research and how he packed the facts out about Jesus death and resurrection.
Josh ended the debate on a very personal note - about his own story, how Jesus totally changed his own life. Yes, also Deedat had the opportunity as well - together with many Muslims - to hear how the love of God is for all sinners that repent and accept Hid offer on the cross.
Dear Muslims reader, this is not an attack against Islam or your Religion. It not a debate where one party win and the other looses against his opponent. It is the factual proof of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Gospel and supported by many eye-witnesses and extra-biblical evidence.
It is much more than a debate.
This is an urgent appeal to you to rethink your faith.
Where are you going? Where is Islam going?
May God have mercy on everybody that looks to this video, even long after the debaters are dead already, even today as you look at it again - may eyes open for the real light of the Gospel!
