7.4.Discoveries about Mecca

Chapter 7.4.
Discoveries about Mecca

1. Traditional History or Standard Islamic Narrative (SIN).
According to Wikipedia Mecca is reputedly the birthplace of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The Hira cave at the top the Jabal al-Nur ("Mountain of Light") is just outside the city and is where Muslims believe the Quran was first revealed to Muhammad.
Visiting Mecca for the Hajj is an obligation upon all able Muslims.

The Great Mosque of Mecca, known as the Masjid al-Haram, is home to the Ka'bah, believed by Muslims to have been built by Abraham and Ishmael, is one of Islam's holiest sites and the direction of prayer for all Muslims (qibla), cementing Mecca's significance in Islam.

2. The historical facts about Mecca?

The book (Quran), the man (Muhammad) and the place (Mecca) are the three main foundations of Islam. In this Chapter you can read more about the city Mecca and the many well researched material that try to answer the many contradictions about this city that are acknowledged today by many reputed Muslims Scholars and how to understand it in the right historical context.

Every Muslims in search of the truth should view the latest research material as reported by Jay Smith and others.

The research by Dan Gibson as published in the well known documentary film "Sacred City" must interest everybody interested in this field.

It will answer the many Questions and uncertainties in their Religion's origin and background about the existence of Muhammed before the 8th century, how the Quran was really put together, the real origin of the Kaaba and the Place Mecca before the 8th Century etc.

In the previous Chapter about Muhammad many scholars today claim that there is no historical documentation available to proof that such a man exist in the period that Muhammad was supposed to live.

Muhammad, the prophet, simply does not stand up to historical testing and is proven to be a fraud after revealing all the new research material available today about the history of Muhammad, the Quran, and the Islam tradition.

The Question of the Sacred City: Is This The Real City Of Mecca?

The Sacred City In this startling and original documentary, writer and historian, Dan Gibson, shows that descriptions of Mohamed’s original holy city – as detailed in the Qur’an and Islamic histories, do not match that of the Mecca we know today.

It do not match Mecca; It perfectly match Petra.

If true, this could shake Islam to its roots because every Muslim is required to pray towards the ‘forbidden gathering place’.

If Dan Gibson is right, Muslims are praying in the wrong direction.

Gibson not only finds the location of the original Mecca but also provides a convincing argument as to how such a great misunderstanding in Islamic history came about.

The evidence is compelling and fascinating. In a time when the world agenda is being set by Islam, it is more important than ever for the origins and history of this world religion to be examined afresh. This is an important documentary with world-wide appeal for both religious and secular audiences.

Beautifully filmed in the ruins and deserts of the middle east, this film The Sacred City is a detective story that investigates the dawn of Islam and will become the most talked about film for years to come.

3. The latest research information about Mecca

The book from Peter Townsend with the name Mecca Mystery - Probing the Black Hole at the Heart of Muslim History...does really just that. It questioned the historical truth about the existence of the city Mecca in the time of the origin of Islam.

The heart of the book is the following paragraph... "During the reigns of different Assyrian rulers Arabia is mentioned with regularity in the records of Shalmaneser III (reigned 858-824 BCE), Sargon II (reigned 721-705 BCE), Sennacherib (reigned 704-681 BCE) and Assurbanipal (668-627 BCE).

In all their records, some of which provide minutely detailed lists of the tribes, cities and towns of Arabia, Mecca is once again conspicuous by its absence.

The Summarised conclusion been... There was no city like Mecca during the time of Muhammad.

More Information about new research.

During 2021 Dr Jay Smith from Pfander Films came up with a lot of new information (discoveries) about their research - one is about looking for historical Mecca.

In their last newsletter for 2021 Dr Jay reveals the following...

Mecca just didn’t exist! Why? Because it’s in a desert, with no water, no food, no people; thus NO HISTORY!

If you were to talk to any Muslim, they would tell you that Mecca has existed as long as Mankind has existed, since it was where Adam and Eve were thrown down to when they were caste out of the Garden of Eden which existed in space (see Surah 7:24).

It is also where Abraham lived in 1900 BC, and where he rebuilt the Kaaba, along with his son Ishmael (see Surah 21:51-71).

They would also note that this city was the center of trade for that part of the world, going north, south, east and west, and that Muhammad was born there and lived there for 52 years before moving to Medina in 622 AD.

Yet, we can’t find one reference to it in any historical document, until 741 AD (remember Muhammad died in 632 AD), and it doesn’t appear on any map until 900 AD (See the maps below)!

What’s more, all of the kingdoms surrounding Arabia which were very close to Mecca, had never heard of this city at all, at least not before the 7th century!

(see the map below with the kingdoms encircled in red)

The city of Mecca just seems to have been created out of the Arabian desert, sometime in the late 7th century, or early 8th century, and then was chosen as the holy city of Islam in the mid-8th century, so that today it is where all Muslims turn to when they pray five times a day.

So, why didn’t it exist before the 7th century? Just look at the topographical picture of Arabia below and you can see the answer. It’s in a desert; and where there’s a desert, there’s no water…where there’s no water, there’s no food…where there’s no food, there’s no people…where there’s no people, there’s no towns…where there’s no towns, there’s no cities…where there’s no cities, there’s no civilization…where there’s no civilization, there’s no History…and that’s why no one has heard of it.

We've also now found that Mecca is not on any trade routes, because all of the trade in Arabia in the 7th century went along the Western Plateau, whose towns are all along and on top of that plateau, except for Mecca, which is 1,000 meters below it (see the black-and-white topographical 3D map below).

In fact none of the trade by sea went via Mecca either, as it all went along the Western coast of the Red Sea, in Africa (see the map below). And why? Because, unlike the Eastern Arabian coast, the Western African coast had water, and where there is water there is food, and people, and towns, and thus, cities of trade!

Unfortunately, for Muslims who follow the 'Standard Islamic Narrative', this undermines everything they know about that narrative, because, without Mecca, you have no Muhammad, and without Muhammad, you have no Qur’an, and without the Qur’an, you have no Islam…it’s as simple as that…

If Mecca is the oldest city because (according to the Standard Islamic Narrative), it is where Adam and Eve were thrown down to, and where Abraham lived, then there should be lots of evidence for it historically.

To watch Jay's recent overview on the problems with Mecca:

Now 2022, Jay comes up with a new discovery about the Maps where Mecca should be in the 7th century. Look to the video here.

We follow the latest research about the origin of Mecca underneath...

Conclusion: No Mecca in the time of Abraham... or Muhammad.

Dr Jay Smith in the late 2021 newsletter of Pfander Films, told about another big discovery made during the last year - about the real origin of the Quran (You can read about this in Chapter 3.8
